By purchasing any items from this website or by ordering a commissioned portrait, you the buyer agree to all the terms detailed below. No permission is given by Rachel DeConte Duffield in respect of the reproduction of any images or other material on this website or commissioned work. Should you wish to use an image, please contact the artist. All Rights Reserved.

Payment
Portrait commissions will be accepted with a 50% booking fee (non-refundable after 7 days of booking) to secure a slot in my work diary and waiting list. Once the portrait is completed and you have approved the watermarked portrait via email, you will need to pay the outstanding balance before the portrait is dispatched. You can do this in full or in instalments, however the portrait will not be delivered until all the balances have been fully paid and cleared.

Prints, gift certificates, greetings cards, and non-commissioned artwork must be paid for in full at the time of ordering. All orders must be paid for either by PayPal or Credit Cards via a PayPal invoice for international payment, and bank transfer for UK payments. Local orders can be paid for with cash upon collection. Please be aware that I work on a first come first served basis and waiting times can take up to six months so please contact me to make sure your portrait can be completed and delivered in the time you need.

7-Day Cooling Off Period Money Back Guarantee
You have a 7-day cooling off period from the date of your booking, in which you may cancel your order and receive your booking fee back in full. After this period your booking fee becomes non-refundable and will be retained by Rachel DeConte Duffield to cover administrative costs, mock-ups, transaction fees and emails. However please note, once artwork has been completed and you have approved it, there will be no refunds.

Cancellations
If the client wishes to cancel after the 7-day cooling off period, the payment amount will be retained as loss of business, to cover the artists time, administration, emails, mock ups and payment fees. If the client wishes to cancel once the portrait has been started, there will be no refunds and all the monies paid will be retained by Rachel DeConte Duffield to cover the artist’s time, administration, labour and materials used.

Portrait Prices
Portrait prices are as per the current published portrait price list on my website regardless of any older business cards or leaflets you may have. For other commissions, I will quote the client, and this will be the payment required.

Exchange Rates
Any currency converter used is for estimation and information only. Exchange rates will be calculated either by PayPal or as per the current exchange rates during the time of payment. Rachel DeConte Duffield cannot be held responsible for currency rate changes.
VAT, Import Tax & Duties
If a delivery incurs any import tax, VAT, or duties the Customer or Client is solely responsible for these payments. Rachel DeConte Duffield cannot be held responsible for any additional charges which may occur.

Portrait Completion Time Scale
An anticipated date of portrait completion will be given at the time of booking. Whilst every effort will be made to meet this, it should not be regarded as an absolute guarantee. I keep a log of my portrait commissions allowing 1- 6 weeks to complete each one. I usually have an assortment of commissions I work on at any one time so if you need your commissions for a specific date please order early. Please be mindful that from September to December is my busiest time. If you would like a commission in time for Christmas, please order it as soon as possible, and remember to factor in Christmas post timings.

Delivery and postage
Framed, unframed and mounted portraits will be sent flat packed, with tracking to ensure safe and timely delivery. All orders are shipped securely with a tracking number to the address you provide. If the item is a gift, it can be shipped directly to the recipient. Please indicate the address at the time of the order, most items are shipped within 3-5 business days from completion of full payment.
All portraits are packaged to a very high standard, so in the unlikely event your portrait gets damaged in transit please photograph the packaging and portrait and email Rachel DeConte Duffield immediately. The portrait is to be returned to Rachel DeConte Duffield in its original packaging at the clients cost, both ways. Once received, I will create another portrait at no additional cost. The lead time will depend on Rachel DeConte Duffield’s waiting list at the time of the return.

Collection
Commissions can be collected in person by prior arrangement only. Please advise you wish to collect your portrait in good time so that no delivery charges are made.

Portrait Amendments
The client is able to make suggestions to a portrait from photographs which will be carried out at no extra charge, however, if these alterations deviate from the original commissions an additional charge may be made to the client. No amendments will be made once the portrait has been approved.

Guarantee
If you do not approve the finished portrait, you are not required to make any further payment and the portrait will remain property of Rachel DeConte Duffield. Due to the nature of the custom commissions, once the portrait has been approved by the client and shipped, no refunds will be made.

Portrait gift certificates
Certificates have a one-year expiry date from purchase but are redeemed at the rates at the time of purchasing. All certificates can be bought in the following currencies: £, $, Euro and Yen. Worldwide shipping is available and shipping costs will be calculated at the checkout. Payment will be made securely online through my website, or if purchasing a large portrait, via Invoice through Paypal (International) or bank transfer (UK).
If you have bought the gift certificate for a portrait size, prices are frozen at the rate they were purchased at, no matter if Rachel DeConte Duffield’s prices increase. eg, if you buy a voucher for £150 ( the price of a 30x30cm portrait) you are guaranteed a portrait of that size, regardless if my prices increase during the period you have your voucher. Alternatively gift vouchers can be used towards a higher priced larger portrait, with the difference paid by the client.
In the unlikely event your voucher arrives damaged (I wrap them very well) you must contact Rachel DeConte Duffield via the website immediately with photographic evidence of the damage. At Rachel DeConte Duffield’s discretion, a replacement voucher will be sent out first class. All shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
Portrait certificates are not exchangeable for cash and are non-refundable.
Returns and exchanges
Rachel Deconte Fine Art offers a full refund on all bought goods you may be dissatisfied with, excluding commissioned portraits and gift vouchers/certificates. Unsuitable or defective items may be returned for refund or exchange providing they are received within 14 days of the original delivery date in brand new unused condition and in the original undamaged packaging. This must be accompanied with a note stating your name address email contact telephone number order number and full reason for return. Please also state whether you require a refund or replacement. The final decision regarding the refund is at Rachel DeConte Duffield’s discretion. I strive for excellent feedback and customer service, so please do not hesitate to message me with any issues.
All refunds are made to the credit/debit card used to make the original purchase unless otherwise notified. Refunds will be received within 30 days of the agreement to refund. If you have requested a replacement with a lower value than the returned goods, a refund for the difference will be created back to the card used for the original order. You will be notified as soon as the refund has been processed.
If you have requested replacements of a higher value, the difference due will be charged to the card used to pay for the original order. When payment is cleared, I shall process your refund and notify you by telephone or email regarding the expected exchange timescale as soon as your request has been processed.
If the goods are not found to be defective, you will need to pay for the cost of refunding the goods. Proof of posting will be required should an item be lost in transit. Neither refunds nor replacements can be made until such proof is provided. It is strongly recommended you get a certificate of posting from the Post Office or a receipt from your carrier when you return an item.

Website images
Although every effort is made to ensure that the print images displayed on Rachel Deconte Fine Art’s website are as accurate as possible, Rachel DeConte Duffield cannot guarantee an exact colour match to the product as displayed on your screen due to individual screen and colour differences.

Rachel DeConte Duffield retains copyright on all artwork produced and reserves the right to use paintings and drawings for Rachel DeConte Duffield’s own promotional material. Client emails may be used in whole or part for testimonials on Rachel DeConte Duffield’s website and/or social media.
