I am a DBS checked, fully qualified tutor with over
20 years experience in leading art and craft groups
of all ages and abilities.

As well as being an exhibiting artist and portrait
painter, I'm certified in Teaching for Lifelong
Learning, I have a diploma in Children's Book
Illustration and I'm a qualified Gold, Silver and Bronze Arts Award advisor. I also hold certificates in Dementia Awareness, Mental Health Awareness, and Trauma Informed Practice.

I believe in encouraging students to reflect on their own work and the work of other artists in order to build confidence and develop technical skills so they can explore, find and progress their own individual artistic style.

Individual Art Tuition
Bespoke tuition in your own home for:
Adult (beginners/improvers only) £30 per person per hour
Juniors aged 8-13 £30 per hour for up to 2 students
GCSE/A-Level help for ages 14-18 £25 per student per hour
Basic art materials provided, but please use your own if you wish!

Community Art Club
For beginners and for fun!

£30 per person per half term (six sessions)
or individual sessions £5.

A friendly and inclusive arty space to meet people, make new art, get a bit of tuition, finish off your old projects or just have a cup of tea!

Beginners Drawing Course- 4 weeks
Drawing for the Petrified
At Artpocket, Lion Studios, Norwich
4 weeks, Wednesdays 6-8pm
Begins 15th January 2025
Course cost: £100 (including materials)
This tutored class is ideal for beginners or people who haven’t put pencil to paper in a while. In a friendly, relaxed atmosphere we will use observational drawing of a variety of objects to explore perspective, composition, shading and texture using pencil, pen, charcoal and pastels.
The course has four structured sessions designed to get you off to a good start, and to build your knowledge, skills and confidence.
Basic paper and drawing materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you wish.

Introduction to Painting Techniques
For Beginners and Improvers !
At Artpocket, Lion Studios, Norwich
4 weeks, Wednesdays 2.30-4.30
Starts 15th January 2025
and runs again starting 26th February 2025
Course cost: £120 (including materials)
This tutored painting class is ideal for beginners or people who haven’t put brush to canvas in a while. In a friendly, relaxed atmosphere we will explore a range of painting techniques in three different media; watercolours, gouache and acrylics.
The course has five structured sessions designed to develop your skills and confidence and try out a variety of painting styles inspired by looking at the diverse work of artists like Claude Monet, Georges Seurat, Paul Klee, Beatrix Potter and Tracy Emin. There will be a mixture of fun exercises, and the opportunity to create your own painting using the techniques you've learned.
Basic materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you wish.

Painting Techniques - a deeper look
For beginners and Improvers!
5 weeks, Mondays 10am-2pm
Begins 24th February 2025

This tutored painting class is ideal for people keen to explore different painting media further or those building on our popular Introduction to Painting Techniques course.
In a friendly, relaxed atmosphere we will spend a day exploring each of three different media; watercolours, gouache and acrylics in depth. The final two sessions will be devoted to working up and creating a finished artwork.
The course has five structured sessions designed to develop your skills and confidence, and lots of time to try out a variety of painting styles inspired by looking at the diverse work of well-known artists like Monet, Hockney, Matisse, Mondrian and Modigliani. There will be a mixture of fun exercises, you’ll make your own artist journal, and you’ll create your own painting using the techniques you've learned.
A small sketchbook to keep, plus classroom painting and drawing materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you wish.
